Engorgio! SPEWW is expanding our magical footprint! This spring we’re taking the best parts of Wizarding Weekend and Leaky Con, adding some new fun elements, and creating our own Wizarding Con we’re calling Cauldron Con.
You’ve given us your suggestions and favorite parts of the conventions you already attend and we’ve put them all in the (Leaky) cauldron and come up with a brand new spellbinding convention for all ages that will make your little Wizarding hearts happy. While we don’t have all the details yet, we do know it will be a full day of amazing vendors, artists, entertainment, panels, crafts, and more!
As always, this will be an event for charity. Once we have decided where the money will go, we’ll update all the pages, but for now, we’d love you to save the date. Cauldron Con will run from 10am-6pm, we encourage your best wizardwear, as we will be doing costume contests. Tickets are not on sale…yet, but we have decided on prices, so you can start planning your visit:
adults: $20
children who are not old enough to attend magic school (10 and under): $15
family pass (2 adults + 2 children): $50
crafting sessions will be an add-on, because we will have limited space and supplies, and right now those will be $5 each, per person
Crowne Plaza will have a cash bar in the ballroom lobby, featuring magical drinks, and will also have food available for purchase. Their restaurant on site is only a few steps away and has an enchanting menu as well. There is parking available for a fee, or you can park on the street, or take TriMet. More details to come, of course.
In the meantime, if you are a vendor who wants to snag a spot, or a business who’d like to sponsor a part of this con, we want to hear from you! We have a lot of ideas and need all the help we can get to make them happen. If you are looking to have a community table, you can also use this app or send us an email (link on the left sidebar).
Sponsors have an option of several tiers:
“Headmaster” Level – $1000
Make the event possible! Your sponsorship grants you a convention table, your name/logo on event signage, social media thanks, free featured placement in our con app, and ten (10) free passes for your use or to give away.
“Professor” Level – $500
Make our programming amazing! Sponsors at this level receive a convention table, your name/logo on event signage, social media thanks, free featured placement in our con app, and four (4) free passes for your use or to give away.
“Student” Level – $250
Make the details magical! Sponsors at this level receive a convention table, your name/logo on event signage, social media thanks, free featured placement in our con app, and two (2) free passes for your use or to giveaway.

We will also need quite a few volunteers to help us pull this off, so if you are interested in helping in any way (quick turnaround the craft room, handing out supplies, running the merch table, checking in attendees, etc), we have a form for that, too!
Yes, we are asking for all the help everywhere very early, but without things on the schedule and money in the bank, this event can’t exist, so we would love to get everything on the books as soon as possible. Thanks for continuing to support and be part of our great Society!
